I’ll start with Ivan Tinoco’s ‘A bitter sip of life’. Talk about some amazing performances. It had to be the first time, in a long time, that I’ve seen a female character breakdown and it hasn’t been forced! I brought my fingers to my lips and lent forward in my seat, as I watched as these women boarded the rollercoaster of love and pain. The line, ‘Why do you keep doing this to me?’, rang in my ears and I just felt miserable, I knew how that felt and at the same time I was thinking to myself, so often we say that, but really, no one is doing anything to us…we’re actually hurting ourselves. Okay, I’m emoting and you have no idea what the film is about. Here’s the synopsis from IMDB.
“One day, one story, 8 couples living a day in a bitter sweet relationship. Amanda wakes up to find her partner sleeping on the couch, and when she picks up his clothes she accidentally finds two condoms inside of his wallet. An avalanche of doubts enter her mind, he is the man she loves, but, is this a mutual feeling? How much can she take on where can you go when reason is fighting against your heart?”
It’s a fantastic idea and the actors are all amazing. I particularly fell in love with Josephine Clark but each and every one of them put in amazing performances. I particularly loved that a diverse range of actors were used. The writing was also incredibly truthful and had an amazingly accurate female bent. Really fantastic stuff.
